Small Groups

TVC Small Groups
At The Village Church, we  walk alongside of each other in a spirit of ‘mutual brokenness.’ The primary way we do this is through Small Groups. Small Groups are organized geographically and they are overseen by an elder and deacon.

Why do we walk alongside of each other?
Paul says, “…if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:1-4). The Bible is very clear that we are to look after the interest of our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to be devoted to one another in brotherly love (Romans 12:10). Our responsibility to walk alongside of each other is not passive; it is devotion and love.

How do we walk alongside of each other?
By fellowshipping with each other in our homes. A family Group enables families to fellowship together, to encourage each other and to pray together. It’s a simple but effective way of providing love, information, fellowship and care. These groups are not intended to be a bible study.

By recognizing that the Christian life is more than just providing for the needs of the Christian community. A family Group can serve in the community where individuals need to see that Jesus is real!

By welcoming new comers and visitors to join. A Family Group is not a ‘members only’ group. They are not ‘closed groups’ to the outside world. They are welcoming because we want others to join our family.

When do we walk alongside of each other?
All the time, in all things! But, we specifically gather in homes in the Huntsville and Madison areas at least once a month. Family Groups meet on different days and at different times. All Family Groups will follow the meeting schedule below:

Fall Schedule – August thru November

Winter/Spring Schedule – January thru April
